Grade UTR

Glastic® Grade UTR Pultruded tubing is a fibreglass reinforced thermoset polyester composite in a pultruded tube.  It is recognized by Underwriters Laboratories.  It is flame resistant, track resistant and it has a UL index rating of 130°C electrical and 160°C mechanical.

Glastic® tubing exhibits uncommon dimensional stability.  It is impervious to high humidity or immersion.  It is also strong and durable (with a burst strength of 1200 psi to 1400 psi); yet it is easily chamfered and cut with carbide or diamond saws.

Glastic® Pultruded Tubing Composites are ideal for numerous tubing applications, and commonly used for a wide variety of fuses, from simple 15 amp fuses to heavy-duty 600 amp fuses.

All polyester fibreglass tube pultrusions exhibit the below properties. 

Oxygen Index (ASTM D2863) of 30%
Flame Resistance (NEMA LI-12) of Class 0
Electrical UL Temperature Index (UL 746B) of 130°C
Mechanical UL Temperature Index (UL 746B) of 160°C

The UL File number for all polyester fibreglass tube pultrusions is E81928.

1. Tubes are tested for porosity by applying water pressure for 60 seconds to the inside.  No streams of water should be visible at the listed pressure.
2. NEMA LI-1 specifies arc resistance of 150 seconds on a 3.2mm thick sample.  Thinner sections exhibit lower arc resistance.
